Staffordshire Moorlands Farmers Women’s Line
In conjunction with Outside Arts, the Staffordshire Moorlands Women’s Line was created exclusively by 11 local women farmers.
The Farmer’s Women’s Line exhibition was hung as part of the Elkstones Flower Festival in the beautiful little church. About 200 people came over the weekend which ended with a service to celebrate the festival. Then the Ashbourne brass band entertained us with a concert, and everyone ate baps and homegrown beef supplied by one of the participating farmers.
Visitors were curious and fascinated by the family tree portraits. Locals discovered previously unknown family and farm history connections which led to lively conversations.
Following this the installation was invited on tour to Longnor and Onecote where it hung for the next couple of months.
